How to get here - Clients
for the week rides will be collected from Malaga airport on the day the trek
commences. The collection will be no later that 4pm. Clients
will be transferred to Malaga airport on the day of departure,
the return transfer will leave Bubion no earlier than 7am. The transfer time is approximately two and a half hours from Bubion.
Granada airport is a one and a half hour drive from Bubion and private transfers can be arranged on request at extra cost.
Please note that transfers for clients on the short breaks are not included.
Accommodation - Small family run hotels
offering twin bedded rooms with ensuite bathrooms. The accommodation
is comfortable, very clean and pleasant. Every effort is
made to use the best accommodation available, most of the
hotels are small with no more than 12 or 16 rooms. There
is no porter services available and most of the rooms are
1st or 2nd floor.
Meals - The food is fresh local produce,
the area is famous for its air cured hams, cheese and trout.
A special effort is made to enable the visitor to sample the different local dishes,
ordering what each place cooks best. Some days lunch will
be in a small village, on others we will take a picnic. Please specify if you have any special dietary requirements.
Insurance - All riders must take out holiday
and accident insurance prior to commencing the ride. Spain
has a National Health Service and it is recommended that
participants from other E.E.C. countries obtain a form E111
from their local post office which will entitle them to
medical service while in Spain.
Recommended items to bring - Comfortable
riding trousers, riding boots with a rubber sole suitable
for walking where necessary, long sleeves shirts with collar,
rainproofs, gloves, full or half chaps, hat (hard hat recommended),
sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle.
Riding Ability - These rides are suitable
for competent to experienced riders, the horses are all
well schooled and forward going. In order to participate
on one of these rides it is necessary that you can control
a horse outside at all paces, and that you can mount and
dismount without assistance.
Fitness - You will need to be reasonably
fit to participate on one of these rides. In addition to
being riding fit you will be required to lead your horse
on some of the steep descents, and need to be comfortable
walking on rough ground.
